    For reference in the past I would draw with flash CPU and then draw it with Starling on stage3d often in away3D, expect you can do the same. Struggled to get really good GPU triangle shape performance on OpenFL/NME, much better on Heaps/Kha/ and fastest pure WebGL?

    It is hard to do complex vector shapes GPU accelerated ? I think Shapes for Unity may well be one option there is also a closed source lib.

    it looks like no. Flash had a 
    flash.media.Microphone
    class, but OpenFL doesn't seem to have a similar 
    openfl.media.Microphone
    class yet.

    if you don't want to go too low-level, there are also samples for Away3D running on OpenFL Stage 3D: https://github.com/openfl/away3d-samples

    Yeah, I did see that post, but it was from 2017, so I (really) hoped something had changed since then. I would have thought somebody would have needed the microphone by now. As the first reply from Joshua says "Could figure out a way to add it to Lime as an official API". I guess I have to dive in, if there is no other option

    I guess it requires C++ though, which I have not done any of unfortunately.
