    haxeui-core is a users universal entry point into the HaxeUI framework and allows for the same user interface code (either with markup or via haxe source code) to be used to build a user interface on various platforms using various HaxeUI backends. Below is a general overview of how haxeui-core and the various HaxeUI backends fit together. You can watch a presentation (given at WWX2016) about HaxeUI to get more of an understanding here.

    Heaps is low-level flexible engine made essentially in-house by ShiroGames, and features are implemented when needed. It's open source, but not community oriented. It's not for people who don't know how to work with a low-level engine, especially not for people who only used gamemaker/unity/ue/godot or any other engine that is extremely reliant on its editor. People who stick with Heaps are mainly ones who want more control over the internals, and they know how to build whatever they want on it.     @User Ok, I managed to make the dirent struct work I've forgot to call the 
    .toString()
    method when getting the string (maybe because it parsed as a boolean value perhaps since in C if number != 0 then true)

    In the sense that when I needed to print the d_name field I need to explicitly call the 
    .toString()
    method

    > But otherwise it nice to see that it worked, I've also converted pointers to RawPointer and it went ok cool - i think that will make it simpler, at least for the initial interface in/out of C, then you can do "whatever" after that... i dont really know what the diff is between RawPointer and Star except that RawPointer seems to have alot more options to it, so maybe Star is a simple thing to use when you dont care about using pointers from haxe... no idea

    RawPointer is quite limited / awkward in how can use it, if you just want to hold a pointer to something its fine. It only really allows array access so is also useful if you want to extern / interact with a c array
