Also fixed - was a good one - dataSource was null unless you explicitly assign it an object you created (you dont have to anymore - latest haxeui-hxwdigets)

sure... custom components / views are defo a thing... the only thing that haxeui doesnt support (at least in a cross framework way) is drawing - drawing hasnt been abstracted out, but if you wanted to lock yourself into a framework then that shouldnt be an issue either

it is painful. but i had already written it a long time ago for a platform (not in haxe). It is possible. but for that you would need at least a function ehr to make it a bit easier: drawText

any other functions you think are missing from here: https://github.com/haxeui/haxeui-core/issues/108 ? Im not saying it will get done right now, but its been hanging around for a long while - and it might be nice to get basic version going...

i am not a fan of haxe itself being just a wrapper. My wish would be a bit that Haxe would get more attention. Generally would be for haxeui maybe something like a skia/cairo or blend2d backend something. haxe is such a wonderful language. I think it's a shame that many developers just put it in the closet.

so first of all i would say that these elements should not be drawn continuously but only when they need to be redrawn. Just possibly with the idea that svg is used for the html backend. Maybe you could design two wrappers here. Once which are drawn only when changes and once which are drawn throughout. Here I would find an abstraction also nice:

if you want to support 3d in the future. drawPolygon would be still nice I think. But what would also need a traingulation. Combination of all styles (lineStyle, ...) in style.line would also be a suggestion. in addition would come of course, style.text, style.line.color, style.color, style.font. What would possibly still be missing: - radial gradient - clip - style.transparentOverdraw // it allows to replace current content with transparent colors, might be a bit hard to implement, so rather optional. - filter (blur, etc. with css like options?) edit: - matrix transformation - drawImage - pie (a not closed circle) - elliptical pie
