StablexUI and HaxeUI were the big ones at one point I guess? but the former isn't really maintained anymore

if your looking for an openfl UI, might be a nice option... but one of the reason why haxeui went all "abstract" from v1 was partly to move away from the openfl dependency which (at the time) was causing many issues (like text rendering, text input and battery power)

as far as "native Haxe solutions" go anyway, there's of course stuff like haxe-react to interface with target-native libs

yeah, all true... but its not the same (i think) as native native

and is there a react native hxwidgets? qt? pdcurses?
  • b

    bright-gpu-74537

    04/17/2019, 12:06 PM
(not that pdcurses is that useful ofc, but just talking about flexibility is all)

I don't even mean "native Haxe solution" in that sense, just that it's nice to have a UI library whose "native language" is Haxe

rather than having externs for something like react

I always wondered how are these things rendered on various targets. Is it some native stuff there, some custom render elsewhere? Does inactive scene constantly redraw stuff like imgui would? Whenever I want to make some gui based tool, in the past couple years and dozens of attempts I never really found an approach that worked well. These days I would probably go html, but that's quite complex approach for simple tools (at least for me, not much html/css exp – always end up fighting it to achieve simple things).
