Seems like trying to compile an empty project targeting wxWidgets results in segmentation fault if I use this component

I copied from the components explorer page

tl;dr this .xml results in a segfault, and removing the

dropdown

element lets it run normally

after trying a bit, seems like the issue is giving a

text

property to the

dropdown

component. Removing it solves the issue, although the dropdown starts with empty text that way

doesnt look like it is... i think the problem with using text on a dropdown is native components only support setting the value to one of the items in the list

selectedIndex="0" should do the trick, that said, i would have expected that to be the default

actually, selectedIndex=0 probably wouldnt be the default now i think about, it would likely be -1

i want to make a sprite editor that lets you import multiple sprites and spritesheets, how would i go about displaying the sprites in a preview window alongside haxeui components?

im assuming i need to use a class from the underlying backend somehow

I'm using the Haxe UI Kha backend, but probably using some similar features as you. Haxe UI can easily show individual images anywhere in your UI as part of other components, as I have in my tree component here. For more advanced things, like a spritesheet that you render yourself, you might be best creating your own component with custom rendering (as I do for say, my colour picker). Depends on how much unique functionality you want your app specific stuff you have, I guess, versus how much you can get by with just the default buttons, sliders, images etc.

ah good, sounds like i can simply slot in a custom renderer as a ui component where i need it

@User - Right, yeah, so as 5Mixer said, the details will be a little backend specific, but generally you should be able to either a) draw the UI over or in some bigger renderer or b) incorporate some renderer into haxeui by means of some type of custom component.
