this is true... certainly, and without any doubt

The philosophy that either of us is apt to take abuse (or what appears to be abuse) due to any dynamic is, I think, not great. There are certain things which don't convey well in text, and it's fair to say this side of calming down that probably it was a joke and I misunderstood.

It's also been consistently frustrating and I've been wrestling this to the ground and trying to stay involved with what little I know and observe. Then someone comes at me with "well, if it's your platform, it's not my problem" as a joke.

If you can't see how the joke itself may contribute to a negative response, there's nothing else to be said on the matter.

I do apologize that I'm sliding slowly into madness and that gets reflected in how I react somewhat. There will come better days, it's a long story. The plan was to try to get that together, get some semblance of sanity in place in how it's described, and then leave it.

Even if MSGhero really means it is not his problem, I am fine with it. Because no one is obliged to fix anything in a open source project.

The problem isn't a belief that he owes me working on it (something I went out of my way to try to make clear).

The problem is in how he came off when given a case of something that may be broken.

His claim is legit. It is not his problem. Because it is free and open source.

I don't say that is the best response to a bug. But that is totally legit

His claim is also improperly addressed. There is a distinction between indicating something is unsupported and mocking a user for bringing up something. I felt like the second case was going on here, not the first.

I don't see he was blaming anyone specifically

"Not my fault" could mean "it is Flash's fault", "it is Ian's fault" or "it is OpenFL's fault" But you took it as it is your fault.

Oh well if it crashes on flash that doesn’t sound like it’s my fault :P
You don't see how that could be seen as mocking a user that has come to you with a problem?

Note that the word is "mock", not "blame".

to be completely honest, i read that line from MSGHero as "its flashes fault" - and a bit of a hat tip to "flash is dead"...

I dunno who is the one who doesn't understand. But sounds like it is not my fault 😛

I've addressed that I probably missed the joke.
  • q

    quick-king-64105

I then followed this with the assertion that the joke was probably not a good response to someone coming with a problem.

Also want to take a moment to point out - I don't recall seeing Flash as an unsupported platform, and there are several major sites which accept user content that still haven't changed to HTML5. Sunsetting or not, we are still in an ugly transitional period.
