he did something on the backend.... something with conditional, to see if it would work for you i reckon

that may assist with getting openfl and flixel to work together. i dont mind installing flixel and trying tihngs if you need btw.

well, let me rephrase that, i dont mind trying again to install openfl if needed.... me and openfl seem to have issues.... me and lime get along great though

If I wanted to write a ui-heavy (mostly desktop) app which needs all kinds of graphs and diagrams to visualize the data do you think haxe+haxeui is a good choice? Also is there something such as d3.js for haxe?

@User I know barely anything about this stuff so take all I say with a grain of salt, but I think I've seen people discussing about using language specific libraries in haxe

it may have to do with this https://haxe.org/manual/target-javascript-external-libraries.html

I've seen this before too but it's always the question how good it integrates (e.g. with haxeui) and also I guess I'd have to target JS then to use d3.js

regarding UI heavy apps, I honestly never even tried haxeui so I can't say anything about that, just really interested in the development

I know some js libraries have been ported to haxe, but my knowledge stops there 😅

thanks. currently i am still pondering on what language / framework would work best. I guess for desktop Qt still would be best for my usecase but I really don't want to use it 🙂

or in particular.. the languages attached to it

maybe it would be easiest to render the graphs/charts myself with some other framework such as kha or openfl

these days there is just so much choice... generally that's a good thing but for me most of the time it's not lol

don't know if you need cross platform or if you like .net but lately it seems like .net is speeding towards cross platform

I used to make desktop apps in wpf in the past and I liked it

so far .net was never too great when developing on linux (which i do). Also not sure if there are good cross platform libs for gui

oh yeah, no experience at all with linux so I would stay away from .net

@User Yes, there are a couple ports of of d3 and also three.js.... UI could handle the graphs and diagrams..

I use linux as well. I have one little laptop with windows.... it handles my 3d printing and testing windows apps while the linux machines handle the real work. heheh

https://twitter.com/ianharrigan1982/status/922780255877783552 He is one way someone used haxeui for charts/data .... though from 2017. I'll look for some more recent.
