    O_o
  • s
    What kind of stupid even
  • u
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! RIP @careful-horse-27838
  • s
Anyone know how I could make a camera in HaxeFlixel that worked kind of like the SCREEN_BY_SCREEN camera but instead of having the area be the screen size, I could have it be variable sizes?
  • u
you could probably write some sort of weird class for it
  • s
I'm not sure how I'd go about it.
  • u
well the camera would be a lockon sorta
  • u
and you'd set its scroll bounds
  • s
I can't do it with scroll bounds because it just snaps into position
  • s
And doesn't move smoothly like it does with the SCREEN_BY_SCREEN
  • u
then set the scroll bounds after the transition
  • u
maybe do some sort of check for the camera's x/y position
  • s
    Tried that too
  • u
    i dunno
  • s
It just ended up being super janky and looked awful
  • u
its not that easy to control the camera's position
  • u
unless you assign it to a "target" object and have that move instead
  • s
    Heh, you're tellin' me.
  • s
Hm, that occurred to me earlier but I wasn't sure about it. May as well try it.
  • u
"unless you assign it to a "target" object and have that move instead" That's how FF7 and many other games do it.
  • u
thats how my last game did it
  • u
my current game doesnt even have camera movement

    swag

What VERB is this: If the index is negative (i < 0), it will be set to the last index (length - 1), if the index is bigger than the last index (length - 1), it will be set to 0
  • u
Right now I call it CAP but it doesn't sound right
  • u
    Loop?
  • u
What are you using it for?
  • u
    That's how the
    ArrayIterator
    works
  • u
    Whoa
