    it might just be the one that is shipped with haxe builds

    at this point and it said i had the latest haxelib

    as it's actually not the latest haxelib version

    it's just the latest available on lib.haxe.org

    but if you install latest haxe, it comes with a much more recent haxelib binary

    ah, and likely no-one has access to the account that can update the haxelib on the repo? 😄

    I think I'll end up opening an issue to haxe repo, this doesn't make any sense imo

    (and you are not the first to have issues because of that, that older haxelib doesn't support 
    .haxelib
    files)

    Yes I might end up doing that, but also create a "troubleshooting" appendice on ceramic website

    command. Try this troubleshooting step 1) Run 
    haxelib version
    2) If the version is 3.3.0 or below you've got an older version of haxelib installed 3) Run 
    haxelib remove haxelib --system
    4) Delete the init project you created if you modified it or ran any of the 
    haxelib install
    prompts 5) Rerun ceramic init --name myproject Everything should work fine now by: @ambitious-knife-25690
