My team has recently started seeing this "Merge queue failed on current head commit" status appear on PRs that failed CI in the merge queue. We know we're fighting some flaky tests currently, but in the meantime, we want to be able to re-submit PRs to the merge queue without updating them, but it seems like this status blocks re-adding to the queue. Bumping the top commit and pushing again is an annoying time-waste, particularly because it forces us to wait for CI an extra time before we can submit to the queue again. Is there a way to allow our engineers to re-submit to the queue immediately, even if the PR failed previously?

hey Colin, referring your feedback to the team about this

We're facing the exact same issue too, would really appreciate a resolution to this as it has slowed our ability to merge things dramatically.

hey Colin and Alex, we've temporarily disabled this behavior for your workspaces and will re-enable it once we have a restack mechanism from in the UI live!

Thanks Gary! I understand that you intend to make the restack easier through the UI. Though I think it would be better (to at least have the option) not be forced to restack at all before trying to remerge. Given that CI is flakey, often just resubmitting to the queue is enough for us. As Colin pointed out for his team, we'd face the same problem needing to wait for an extra CI check to complete on the PR before being able to submit to the queue.
