If you

gt branch submit

from your branch you'll avoid overwriting the upstack branch. Then you can

gt downstack get

from the branch your coworker updated to pull their changes in to your local and restack on top of yours, and resubmit that restacked branch. Does that make sense? We're working on making this workflow clearer
