Anonymous post “Without moving, do i have any option of changing my license and bank to a different local address? I keep moving apartments, but I would like a stable mailing address.”

I don’t have an answer to this but I can say that a PO box is definitely not the answer because a bank will cancel your account once they figure out its a PO box.

From a quick Google search I would say to look at virtual mailing services. Idk if the banks or whatever would allow it to be used or not, or how legit they are.

There are places like ups stores (formerly mailboxes etc) and other local shipping centers or co-working spaces that will give you a local suite number

I have personally tried to do this with PostScanMail virtual mailing service, and chase shut down my account
What about finding a friend and asking if they can use their address? Any downsides?

If you have an attorney, you can ask if you can use their address/service

I use my parents’ address for all banks/ccs. Anything official really. Not for my license though (just never bothered to switch, but I can’t see why it would be different).
Also, isn’t there usually an option for a permanent address and a mailing address?

This reminds me: not long after I got married, we rented an apartment in NJ, rental to start the first of the following month. Before we moved, we went to switch our licenses to NJ. Changed my address on my INGDirect (online only bank, now CapitalOne360) and printed out my new statement. I can still remember the NJ MVC clerk telling off another person because his proof of address was not good enough, waving my online-only, printed-out-of-my-NY-computer bank statement at the guy, saying "Look at this great proof of address!"
