Is Slack really the right platform for this group considering that messages disappear after 90 days?

Cool. I didn't know about this.

but I am very open to feedback, if you think there is a better platform I am all ears. I did a lot of interviewing and market research before deciding on slack. No other platform was able to scale to the number of people I am aiming to have here. If you have a better suggestion, please share! I am also hoping to eventually get the paid plan as we continue to grow.

But, we're happy to have the perennial "let's move to discord" discussion so that those of us from frum devs slack feel more at home.
