I mean we are not ready for mass adoption yet. Now it's possible to send crypto around the world for pennies, but it wouldn't be possible if large amount of people suddenly started using it. To support that we need scaling, yet should not forget about simple and seamless UX.

Scaling in what sense? We would need more explorer and node instances run by the community and others..

Other than that, as long as there are miners to process tx’s into blocks, the rest should take care of itself. Unless im missing something.

I mean scale to support large number of transactions with low fees, no congestion and, ideally, fast confirmation.

Look, I grew up before the Internet and have been waiting for the year that Linux will finally be ready for the desktop before mist people have been born. I'm under no illusion crypto adoption is going to be ready tomorrow. It's like 1995, all over again. Or, the question I like to ask: who is the WordPerfect if crypto?

User space on Linux is still horrible. You'd have figured they would have fixed that by now.

If I’m not mistaken congestion from last time was everyone pointing to a single explorer/node instance (which will cause issues with trying to sign and send a tx from wallet). Chain was fine. Then the difficulty spike was the other one in recent memory but has some remedy applied to it now (EIP 37). Any other ones anyone?

Easy to imagine a volume of transactions the chain couldn't handle, but that just doesn't happen over night.

Imagine Palmyra getting used as a DHL style logistics tracking for tea. Probably find some really interesting bottlenecks there.

As in overrunning the nodes with too much chain data to process and sync?

Linux is not that popular among desktop users, yet it completely dominates servers, iot devices, and smartphones. It's quite a victory if you ask me.

snaps are pretty bad sometimes flatpaks are ok but have similar potential issues, i just prefer if things can be configured w the native package manager in command line. building from source ftw lol
