Hey guys there was one thing i just had a question about, thanks for the time in advance. When we upgraded to the eip27 standard as far as i understand it stores away erg in a re emissions contract for when our 8 year emission period is over miners will then be able to receive further rewards from the saved erg for another 20 odd years. I was wondering if anyone had a little breakdown of why we went with that, did we think that the storage rent fees wouldn’t be enough after the 8 year period was up and further more when the 20 years is up will we be ready then to move ahead with storage rent regardless of how the market prices erg (just because ive seen people say it will be fine because erg will be more expensive) Thank you guys, just trying to educate myself on the subject.

I think there was a discussion with kusthi on this in one of the past AMAs on youtube which is really good. My opinion is that the 8yr-runway was too short to allow ecosystem growth and better price discovery. In hindsight, the decision was a very good idea given the bear we entered.

Lets say price discovery never happens, obviously it will, but lets pretend, do we depend on the market valuing erg for storage rent fees to be efficient enough for miners? Thanks man ill try find that AMA im really intrigued by the discussion

And they might pick storage rent ahead of other TXs. Storage rent is a really cool concept, but miners could potentially abuse it.
