I've got a question about the agent: Is the agent in coder v1 still the same as in v2? What I'm especially interested in is the cooperation with some local ssh daemon (as explained in https://coder.com/docs/coder/latest/admin/workspace-management/ssh-access#using-openssh ) and if the `/coder` path within a workspace is still taken into account for application configuration or does it all have to be done in the template?

Hi <@996696516389503017>, the document is not accurate for v2. Would you mind sharing what part/features of OpenSSH you're interested in using? The SSH server built in to the Coder v2 agent has a lot of the features already present, so there should hopefully be no need for OpenSSH.

I'm trying to use x2go via coder - but it somehow gets stuck - and as X11-forward does not work with the coder agent I suspected the coder ssh implementation to have something missing here.

regarding the /coder/apps directory: I would like to use your VNC-example as a fallback for the x2go issue - but I'm not sure if it would even work with v2

There's an open issue about X11 forwarding: https://github.com/coder/coder/issues/4572 (feel free to thumb it up). I haven't looked into it, but It's something I think we definitely should support. So while it may not work right now, it should in the future.

In principle, you could run an OpenSSH server on in your workspace and then allow connections to it via `coder port-forward`. (As a work-around, for now.)

I'm not intimately familiar with v1 apps, but in v2 they work a bit differently. Most of the heavy lifting is done in the template.

Here are two different examples that utilize noVNC:

Once you have a template set up that starts a VNC server inside the workspace, you can forward/tunnel the port via `coder port-forward workspace ---tcp 5990`.

You can also define apps in the template so that they can be accessed via a URL: https://github.com/sharkymark/v2-templates/blob/da64704eb458a8017cced9c27f4ecab436f7c688/docker-with-vnc/main.tf#L74-L88

I think I'm generally clear on how it works, I was just hoping to be able to save the time to put it all in the templates and instead can take the readily configured image 😉

You could probably try out the templates as-is depending on what your environment looks like

Well, the template you shared actually uses the VNC image I was referring to but replicates the setup in the template. So I guess this is the answer I was looking for 😉

Another question: is there a trick to add the correct CORS allow headers to forwarded ports via the browser? My requests get blocked because the auth redirect url is blocked by CORS

I'm having trouble activating the bot can you help me?

After configuring the TLS-certificate in the coder config I can no longer reach the web ui. I am getting HTTP ERROR 400.
I tried to view logs from my system process using `service coder status` and `journalctl -xeu coder.service`, however I can't see any errors.
Can anybody help me debug?

Coder-setup:
- I am running coder v0.14.1 as system proccess via the install script
- To reach coder I am using nginx as a proxy server. It should only proxy request from https://coder.domain.com to http://127.0.0.1:3000 (to reach the coder ui). It also redirects http://coder.domain.com to https://coder.domain.com. The wildcard certificate is also installed here with nginx
- My wildcard domain in coder is *.domain.com

Steps to reproduce:
- I generated a wildcard certificate using certbot with the command `certonly --manual -d *.domain.com -d domain.com --agree-tos --manual-public-ip-logging-ok --preferred-challenges dns-01 --server https://acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org/directory --register-unsafely-without-email --rsa-key-size 4096`
- I put the certificate in the directory `/etc/coder.d` and gave file permission to the coder user
- in the `coder.env` file I enabled the TLS certificate:

Error:
When I try to reach `coder.domain.com`  I get the error HTTP 400:

I wanted to start coder manualy to keep streaming logs but I can't do so as root user. Also I can't login as the coder user. Should I maybe create a new user and try running `coder server`?
