    I bought myself the Hexclad pan/wok set from Costco as a birthday gift and it's been glorious

    I've had my eye on that and have been researching it for about a year now (my formal area of study is Chemistry)

    I can make fried rice (including the initial cooking rice step) in a single wok or pan (although I usually transfer to another container to let the rice sit in the fridge for a day or two)

    the secret they don't actually explain well (at all?) is that using a nanosecond laser to cut micro channels across the surface

    they explain the rest well, fluoride based nonstick goes in the grooves, but stainless steel is whats exposed on top
