It should be fine to host videos with R2

7 months ago, their product said they would have a separate rule for R2. https://discord.com/channels/595317990191398933/1006376008347287584/1007011452252598272

and now 7 months passed, you still have to spend even a month talking to support to get your account whitelisted manually.

In my bucket there was some class B operations counted in metrics even though I have not published my bucket URL anywhere. Why this happens?

Maybe they just don't want those regular customers' videos wasting their bandwidth, but don't want "big customers" to leave either.

Using the dashboard is also running operations

Yeah, I knew that but I'm sure I didn't access dashboard while I'm sleeping. I'm think maybe related to caching or something?

Did you configure a public domain? Could be junk bot traffic on the domain from cert logs

    Yes configured custom domain

Anyway to analyze exactly what operations have been registered or what types at least? I'm using an R2 bucket with a custom developed Python program that dosen't run extremely regurarely, backups for CloudPanel that runs every 3 hours and for cloning with rclone to another bucket every three hours. I've also setup an R2 URL with a custom domain to be access restricted with Workers. I'm probably missing something I've myself done, but I see a spike in operations exactly every 10 minutes, and I can't figure out what's causing it exactly.

If you just want to serve the data publicly, you only have to set up a custom domain and put a cahce everything rule on it. Otherwise, you will have to put a worker in front of it (which adds 0.50 / million requests to the cost) and do the caching and authentication in there.

A month? F**k that. I pay my bill for R2 service and I have to wait almost a month for a failure that shouldn't happen?

I'm playing audio on R2 via presigned url. I can play it via browser but not from Android's ExoPlayer.

is it possible to cactch pre-sign url content ?

Not out of the box, the presigned urls use the S3 API which does not do caching. Perhaps you would be able to proxy the requests through a worker (you would have to change the URL to the bucket instead of your own site), where you would be able to cache it.

Hey 👋 Does R2 support SQL queries (like you know, AWS S3 Select)?

Is there any way I can avoid these junk traffics? (bucket URL not shared anywhere but the operations are increasing due to junk traffics)

Block all traffic but no not really you can try with firewall rules but you run this risk of blocking real traffic also so
