Anyone have a copy of CF2021 to see if this error still mentions Coldfusion 9?

I would presume that any work as significant as porting the CFML dev editor from Eclipse to VSCode would have gone through vigorous user testing before release, yeah? Cos it'd be daft if it hadn't. Right. Right?

@Mark Takata (Adobe) is there any official guidance on compatibility/support on updating the JDK for the Jetty installation that powers the PDF Service Manager / SOLR - we recently ran into some issues with the PDF service manager that have been solved by updating the JDK from 8->11 but wondered if this was something that adobe officially support?

I've just updated a CF16 Server to CF21. There's this neat migration tool that popped up during the installation that helps you port all the settings to the new Insallation. After the update everything was working fine except when trying to run anything cfhtmltopdf related. After a hour of debugging I realized that the one migrated PDF Service Manager was misconfigured to Port 8989, which I think is the default for CF16, whereas CF21 starts the pdfg service on Port 8993. I simply had to change the port. So everything is running fine now, but i'm posting this just as a little PSA in case anyone else is running into this issue in the future πŸ™‚

I am building a new ACF2021 VM and I keep running into this error "Entered credentials for Coldfusion Administrator are incorrect" when running the Auto-lockdown tool. Can somebody point me to the link for the manual method, please?

@Mark Takata (Adobe) There aren't any "features" of the bug tracker where rejecting a ticket doesn't E-mail the reporter, are there? This ticket of mine was closed (and for terrible reasons, I might add) a few months ago and I've searched my E-mail and can confirm I was never notified at all. https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/CF-4212129 Also, for crying out loud, can we get this ticket re-opened and some sensible discussion going please? The reason for closing it was basically, "well, that's how it works, so it must be as designed!"

@Mark Takata (Adobe) Same with this ticket https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/CF-4205110 I have searched my E-mail and I have zero messages from the bug tracker about this ticket, yet it is closed and without even as much as a comment. It's marked working as designed, but this is crazy. You can't be rendering HTML from error messages in your error templates . That's an XSS waiting to happen. EncodeForHTML() should be junior level stuff here.

Covering both of the issues listed above, we are actively working on dislodging ourselves from the Tracker system. It is clearly disliked by a vast majority of our customers, to the extent that they mostly only put in bugs begrudgingly, as they know the system will crash, or not update them when the bugs are fixed or many other issues. We are looking at moving to another tool which is used currently across Adobe on all of the CC and Doc Services platforms, and has also been used for some of the Alpha/Beta programs we've engaged in over the years. We are working on making sure this system will cover our needs, but as its one I'm somewhat familiar with, I can say I think it will end up being approved and we will hopefully begin the migration later this year. There's a LOT of work to do to move this. We will need to migrate all of our tickets over, update websites, relink JIRA, etc. So please be patient. This has been one of my pet peeves since I started and my voice (and yours) is being heard, but it is a colossal task. Thanks all.

Has anybody determined a solid fix yet for the issue where cfmail gets into a broken state and throws
java.lang.ClassCastException: class coldfusion.mail.MailImpl cannot be cast to class coldfusion.mail.MailImpl
until you uninstall and reinstall the module? We're having to do it basically every time CF gets restarted now.

Hi all. Is there an easy way to update the Tomcat that's installed with Adobe CF? I was hoping they released it as a CF upgrade, but so far no such luck. And just installing the latest Tomcat download seems fraught with peril.

we're upgrading from CF10 to CF2021 (not married to 2021, coudl revert) but have a legacy air app that leverages AMF/flex2gateway. I'm 99% sure this is the flex remoting feature listed as retired https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/deprecated-features.html but wondering if it MAY be the "flex integration" listed as removed. 2 questions: 1. does anyone know what these features are or where they are described (Google has failed me) so i can know which one i need for flex2gateway 2. does anyone know of a doc/article that describes how to unretire flex2gateway in recent CF versions?

We have CF2018 and IIS 10 Win Server 2019. When I try to go to any of our sites with just the domain name I get this error Could not load type 'C:\Coldfusion2018\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll'. If I add index.cfm the site loads fine. I added a rewrite rule in IIS to fix it for now, but I would like to know what the issue is if anybody has any ideas. Thanks.

@priyank_adobe @Mark Takata (Adobe) Quick licensing question-- I want to make sure none of this changed in ACF 2021. Using CF with an Enterprise license allows you to create more than one JVM instance on the same server and they are covered by the same license. Just to confirm β€’ Is there a limit to the number of JVM instances on a single server that are covered by a single Enterprise license β€’ For the sake of discussion, lets's assume the number of cores is small enough to not matter And now, the corollary question is-- does it matter how those JVM instances are created? What if they are not created by the Enterprise Instance manager, but instead β€’ A separate installation of CF on the same server β€’ More than one WAR deployment on a servlet container like Tomcat or JBoss Undertow β€’ More than one CommandBox server started Are any of those bullets limited in any fashion, or would a single ColdFusion Enterprise license cover any number of those on a single server with an acceptable number of cores?

INNER JOIN blahTable" // some handy comment
        & " INNER JOIN otherTable

Here's a fun way to bork an Adobe server. Add a system property with no name
    Copy code
    -D=foo
The code inside CF that load the system properties into the server scope will blow chunks

Anyone have ideas on how to find the line number an file this compiler error is happening on. CF isn't really being very helpful here. I'm testing an old app on CF 2021 for the first time so it could literally be any where across a huge code base of files. (stack in the thread)

ACF developer edition is still limited to only two remote IP addresses. ☝️ is that a still true statement for CF21? Thanks in advanced
    Adobe ColdFusion Developer Edition
This free, fully functional version of ColdFusion is for the local host development of applications that will be deployed on either standard or enterprise servers β€” and that can be simultaneously accessed from only two remote IP addresses.

Running the Adobe 2021.0.3+329779 as a WAR install (CommandBox) on Java 11.0.11+9 (AdoptOpenJDK) I'm seeing the following error (in thread) in the console logs while CF is starting up. Are there any special jars Adobe CF is requiring here? Googling this class mostly finds stack overflow questions where people are told to add jars to their project πŸ€” cc/ @priyank_adobe
