Hi 👋 We currently have a significant number of Actors using the Rental pricing model, and we're preparing to migrate all of them to Pay Per Event (PPE) before the Rental model is retired on October 1. We understand that a pricing model change normally takes effect 14 days after it is initiated, so we'd like to clarify the best timing for initiating these migrations. Our main goal is to maximize and preserve our Rental revenue for September, while making sure all Actors are successfully migrated to PPE and don't get automatically migrated to PPU on October 1. Would you recommend: - Initiating the Rental → PPE migration around September 16, so the 14-day notice period finishes at the end of September / around October 1? - Or can we keep the Actors on Rental until September 30 and initiate the PPE migration then? In that case, what happens to the 14-day notice period once Rental is retired on October 1? Would the Actors still transition to our selected PPE model, or would they first be automatically migrated to PPU? It's very important for us to understand the exact timeline, as we'd like to maximize September's Rental revenue without risking the Actors being automatically moved to PPU. Could you please advise on the recommended migration date and how the 14-day notice period interacts with the October 1 Rental retirement? Thanks! 🙏

If you can do it by September 16, I recommend doing it that day or earlier. If the 14-day notice period extends into October, you won't get any new users during those days, as the actor will be in a kind of "rental-frozen" state. If you want to milk your rental users as much as possible and don't mind going 14 days without new users, then you can wait until September 30. But IMO, that's not a good idea, as you could lose potential customers. Good luck, btw!

Or in other words, if you have old actors with only zombie users you can keep those on rental until September 30th, but for active working ones I'd switch on 16th latest. However, if Apify refunds for rental Actors automatically (which I have no exact info about) then even keeping even those old ones makes no sense because the aliquote part of money would be returned to user, so eg if rental starts on Sep 28th then you'd get only 2 days revenue anyway.

If you migrate before September 30, we will keep your users on the rental pricing until the 14 days pass. Then they will be moved to PPE pricing and the remainder of their month's rental fee will be refunded to their account. As @igolaizola mentions, you won't be able to acquire new users while your Actor has rental pricing after September 30. New users will be able to run your Actor after it converts to PPE when the 14 days have passed since you submitted the price change.
