@Lari Hotari or @David K you may know? thanks in advance.
however, i am very curious about how i can add arbitrary settings to the broker.conf file
d
It is really simple. You need to change the startup command to be like so. Then, you can modify any property in the broker.conf file by prepending “PULSAR_PREFIX_” to the property name and setting the desired value like so.
command: >
      bash -c "bin/apply-config-from-env.py conf/broker.conf &&
      exec bin/pulsar broker"
The python script parses the configs and injects properties with the “PULSAR_PREFIX_” prefix into the broker.conf file before starting the broker.
s
that's easy 🙂 let me try that
question. even if i don't set the command you mentioned above, but instead i just set PULSAR_PREFIX_functionsWorkerEnabled = true (just an example), would that suffice?
d
No, the key is the execution of the python script. That is what injects the property values into the broker.conf file.
s
sorry, i meant to say, if i don't stuff the change into the broker.conf file, but i just set the env var, at runtime the value of "PULSAR_PREFIX_functionsWorkerEnabled = true" would still be used.
d
IDK, it is worth a try.
s
thanks @David K!
ah, i see this the brokers already have the needed script to copy the env vars to the broker.
