OpenTofu! Officially part of Linux Foundation! Thoughts?
I’d much prefer OpenChocolate….but anyways, that’s a great step and we will think hard about whether/when to migrate. Do you think the fork is ready to migrate? Is the fact that terraform registry won’t work with Open Tofu a deal breaker for those who might migrate?

OpenTofu is OSS LittleHorse?
oh, its OpenTF. Sorry 🙂

It was a very excited proclamation and invitation to discussion. But I'm not a huge tofu fan, so I don't really like the name...but that's kind of beside the point.

Reminds me that back at Cloudera we had "Data is the new Bacon" t-shirts. And we also got "Data is the new Tofu" t-shirts for everyone who can't eat bacon (vegans, jews, muslims, jain...)

At this point I know better than to put LittleHorse promotional content in #C022S1VAK5M 🙂

LOL. If you ever join a big OSS foundation, it is newsworthy and not promotional.

to stay on topic 😄, I think it's great to see progress on the OSS front. I've been using terraform since 2014 and love it so the whole licensing "drama" had me really worried. The changelog podcast has an interview with one of the people involved in the initiative and made me feel much better about the future of terraform OpenTofu!
As for ready to migrate, good question! I've been meaning to find out about this but don't have any terraform project at hand right now. Knowing myself, I'd wait for the first big release. Then wait 2 weeks more (bugs are gonna bugs), then try to migrate a project
