Noticed something weird in the Encounter Rule Book. The example under "Choosing a Target" uses a Giant Rat, a minion. However, minions don't actually follow the 6-step targeting process, instead they follow the much simpler "Minion Targeting" rules a few pages later.

Also, the search feature is failing me... What do minions target if no enemy is in line of sight? Closest enemy, ignoring line of sight?

I suggest the only really different is, that minions do not react to broken locations and do not share THE target of the Stage cards but their own rule of targeting, which is the default targeting rule with the addition of bulking one target.

One big difference is also the change from targeting "Oathsworn" to targeting "Oathsworn, Allies, or characters friendly to the Oathsworn"

Yup. Minions attack whatever is closest which is a big difference when your Oathsworn aren't the only characters on the board

Guys, we are playing right now and fighting the broodmother. If Rear is broken, can we target Core and/or Flank (left, right)? Also: Can I swap between weapons any time? It's not clear how weapons work.

When we need to draw an Item from Common / Unique, can we look through all the items, or it's random?

It is random. You can only look when you visit a banksmith.

You target the die closes to your location. If at equal distance you can choose which one to hit after damage is drawn. (Read more in encounter rule book page 15) Weapon(s) (and items in general) are picked and equipped during the story part. You can't change items during the encounter. Weapon(s) give a static bonus to your might track. Armour give a static bonus to your defense. Some items can also give your more abilities to use.

So in order to use my item weapon's special ability, i need to play an ability card to be able to attack and then play the weapon card if applies yes?

you can't attack if you can't play an ability card with the sword icon

The weapon's special ability might also have one or more conditions required to be fulfilled for you to play it.

One more. We got the kid in the first chapter. We ended up on a fight but it was never revealed what happened with the kid (ally). Do we keep him in the company bag?

story book does say the number of the ally card to take when you get one.

and yes, it will stay in your company bag until told otherwise.
