The choice is always up to you. Roll/draw as many white as you want plus any yellow, red, or black you have available to you. And then upgrade with Empower X3 as you see fit.

If it has a core. The damage is applied to an adjacent location of your choice.

If the Warbear uses their Topple card and hits a large monster with every hex of the template but the monster has only three dice remaining with 8 total hit points, how much damage does the monster take?

Possible interpretations: A. The monster overlaps all 7 spaces of the template, so it takes 7 damage. The Warbear player chooses how damage is applied to dice. B. The monster overlaps all 7 spaces of the template, so it takes 7 damage. The dice take damage in order of proximity to the attacking Warbear. C. The monster's dice that are overlapped by the template take 1 damage each.

I believe you would treat it as an AOE attack, and, if I'm correct, the damage is equal to every location that the attack would hit. And then that damage is applied to the location closest to your Warbear. So, "B" was your closest answer. It would only be 7 damage if all 7 spaces have a location.

Chapter 6 question : ||Bloostlust say it attack all adjacent characters, friend or foes. Does that mean Horrors will also attack other Horrors if they're adjacent? ||

After looking through the BGG rules forum: I believe the card's direct HP loss is applied to closest die to the Warbear. This establishes a practical damage cap of 6, because that is the highest die facing.

The Warden's Chain Drag card says "Knockback the character, in a direction of your choosing, a number of hexes equal to the total shown". My question is, can I choose "East" or "West" as a direction? I know the rules specify knockback is a straight line, so not sure if east or west is a valid direction for this knockback since the character would not be moving in a straight line.

Yeah, that's how I played it, it would have been sweet though! Knockback is a little fiddly sometimes, I also pinned an enemy in between the side of the board and an obstacle. I knocked them back 3 and played it that they reflected back into the obstacle, but not 100% sure if that's correct either.

If anything they probably would just stop where they are, no effect, or if they reflected they might have reflected back into me causing us both damage.

    > If a character is knocked back past the edge > of the board, they instead stop at the board > edge. This does not count as the character > colliding with an obstacle.

I know cone attacks don't worry about line of sight but can terrain the attack or does the cone attack go through terrain?

@Tonzin Do cone attacks go through obstacles like walls or trees or houses?

I believe so. Cone attacks are not effected by LoS. I've played them as hitting anything in the area.

for the Grove Maiden. If you use an Empower token for your sentinels can you upgrade a black to a black and white?

Sentinels can't draw extra cards for damage so are they locked into only blacks or can you get a couple extra cards?

don't believe you can upgrade anyone's cards from black to black+white. Grove maiden specifically can't draw extra cards
