In mine, Amber is what gives the A'Dendri life, hence the amber glowy eyes.

Hope it doesn't clash with official lore once I start playing

I read the AP speed paint are good for wet on wet, due the feature/bug to be reactivated when painted over them.

Mind giving me a brief interview of how you did this? I’m using speed paint too and want this look

Okay, I'll try to do a step-by-step still as in how I would go at it when painting another one:
1. Zenithal Prime with Airbrush. I tend to do only a single white layer over black at a low angle and then another layer directly from top, which gives me a greyish-white as a transition color. Also, I tend to do the face almost pure white with antoher layer directly at it to draw in the attention.
2. Drybrushed the chest section and the face to make it pure white (I only knew at this point I wanted to have light colors in these sections, you can instead just prime that pure white in step 1)
3. Used AP Speedpaints. Don't know all the exact names of the range, but I think you'll know which color I mean. First I mixed the yellowish-green (Malignant Green?) with a bit of Medium and glazed in the edges of the chest and face area
4. Glazed in the Orc Skin-Green on the outer edge of the malignant green to give it a transition. Also, paint the feather part of the arrows with orc skin green. 
5. Glazed the outer edges of this with Camo Green to transition it to a darker green (slowly go darker and darker from the almost pure white in the center) 
6. picked some high points and vines and painted them light green with thinned orc skin and Malignant Green

7. Picked some other vines I wanted to look more like roots and painted them Dark Brown
8. Picked out the amber parts and eyes with pure whites and after that dried put the orange speedpaint and the low parts and the yellow speedpaint and the mid and high points 
9. picked out some bigger areas with some orc skin green, mostly camo green and a lot of dark brown. I made this part wet in wet to make the bigger areas less uniform.
10. after it dries, pick out some areas like the shoulder pad and the belt and paint the raised parts dark brown (I had them green first, if you paint them brown from the start skip this).
11. After everything thourougly dried, you can dampen (not wet, only a tiny bit of water in it) a drybrush a bit to reactivate the Speedpaints on the highest points and take away some color. Due to the reactivation you can reverse dry-brush this way 
12. If chest or face is not light enough for your liking, give it a light drybrush with pure white. The white won't stay pure white due to the reactivation, it'll blend in.
13. Mix the dark brown speedpaint with a bit of medium to get a light brown; paint the big piece of wood on the base. Splodge about a bit of the used browns and greens on the rest of the base.
That should be about it! 😆

Is there a consensus over should you glue the mini before painting if you intend to use the armory?

Would definetly recommend gluing the heads, legs and torso, so the joints of the arms etc. have a tighter fit and don't fall out. Would leave the connection to the base and stuff like shields as is for easy access when painting.

Well, I got the game yesterday finally and just finished up the trees. I do want to add some greenery from the branches and climbing up the trunk, but here’s my paint job before the garnish.
