And Google seems like they're getting to the point with limits that they will take away the free gpu system

indeed - that's my thinking as well - I wish I knew more about coding (I know nothing) so I could really get it working offline - it baffles me how I could get some processing done but then it has no clue I have GPUs

I don't know how to code it either but I do have a very capable GPU to train on if I could

    I can synthesize locally

I've seen people basically make a package

    With everything needed in it

Then all it takes is slight editing of the code to move the paths to where your dataset is and such

I think it might still rely on google drives though

    Which is stupid

    (I have a Nvidia RTX 2080)

More CUDA Cores than the T4000 apparently

So I think it technically means it's more capable being that it doesn't do as much on the graphics side of it

Ohm, I have the offline synthesis sure - I'm trying to get the entire training setup away from Colab - some folks have made it work, but I've only got like 3 steps (data processing) working - none of the model training

Yea I've not gotten that set up at all

I just got it connected to my GPU

The issue is im a windows 10 user

And everything is designed for Linux

same ... but you're saying you have gotten it working with your GPU from cloab? ie, you connected to a local run time from the Colab notebook? I tried that and got nowhere
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:05 PM
Yes I've connected my gpu to collab through local runtime
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:05 PM
Then edited stuff from within there
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:05 PM
The local synthesis completely gets rid of colab though
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:05 PM
So I'm attempting to do something like that
  • x

    xomnow

    12/18/2022, 5:05 PM
I envy you there - I desperately want to get that working
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:05 PM
Which is what it looks like your doing
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:06 PM
Is it you cant connect your gpu to collab or cant edit the code theree?
  • x

    xomnow

    12/18/2022, 5:06 PM
I ask colab to go to a local runtime, I did all the setup that google said, tried running it locally in jupyter notebook and it doesn't find a gpu
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:07 PM
    Is your GPU intergrated?
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:07 PM
    Like a laptop?
  • w

    WeegeeFan1

    12/18/2022, 5:07 PM
    Or home built PC?
  • x

    xomnow

    12/18/2022, 5:07 PM
beyond that, I have tried scrapping Colab entirely - I found a copy of the notebook and can run it totally in juypter but it still can't find a gpu
