Hi I'm new here. I just got dendron set up and looking forward to use it. I have 2 questions I am hoping to get answered. 1) I use Obsidian for my general notes and am bringing in dendron for my technical note taking and dev log. I currently have it set up so that my obsidian vault and dendron vault each have their own repos. Then a dendron directory in my obsidian vault contains a git submodule which has the dendron workspace and the dendron vault loaded as a remote vault. The only issue with this arrangement is that there are technically 2 dendron vaults within the obsidian vault. One is a local vault that lives under dendon/notes and the other remote vault (the one I use) lives under dendron/dependcies/.../devlog. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for how to get rid of the local vault and have the remote vault live at the dendron/ folder level without the need for the local vault

    2) Obsidian has a plugin which can read dendron file names and show hierarchy links between dendron notes. The only conflict I have is that dendron links have the alias before the pointer text whereas obsidian has the pointer text before the alias (the stuff before and after the pipe | symbol). Is there an easy way to reverse the order? Has anyone else run this type of setup?

we support it - its just being deliberate with it. if everything becomes a link, then links don't matter. so the emphasis is to use them when they make sense

I'm not sure that I believe that premise, but it is an interesting view. Likely true if you are trying to make a zettelkasten, I guess, but I use my notes for discovery, research, and recording... not creation, so that may be the fundamental difference.

Hello, I've seen dendron 0.114.0 upgrades nextjs version. I'm not sure, though, if I should upgrade nextjs nor how to do it (I'm not familiar with nextjs)

Updating the next-js template should be enough for getting latest updates: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/cToymvsc33870ctRFeBA8/

thanks, @Joshi . I'm confused. I thought that what was updated was nextjs, but following your message, I understand that what was updated was not nextjs, but the template you created for nextjs (assuming is this one? -> https://github.com/dendronhq/nextjs-template) ? (sorry if it's too basic: I've never worked with nextjs -actually, javascript- and I am confused about this)

Yeah so the next-js template that we use for publishing now supports next.js version
    12.3.0
. Updating the template will update the nextjs version used.

we're currently doing internal work to stabilize interfaces. that should be done at the end of the month, timeline for API should be november/december

I'm pretty sure Note References that had Task Links in them used to display the Check Box (Checked/Unchecked) in the Preview, as well as the status (i.e the (d), (y), and (w) suffixes). Did something change recently? Task Notes preview fine in normal Notes.

First is a Note Reference in another page, second is the Note itself. Am I imagining that it used to work the same way in Note Refs? 🙂

Is it possible to change color of the task or frontmatter on a task note based on priority. I understand tags have the functionality of different colors, but similarily do task notes with priority high vs. priority low can have different colors? This would visually really help identify which tasks are to prioritized easily

That sounds like a useful enhancement. could you create a feature request for this?: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&template=feature_request.md&title=
