Also both of these seem to work fine from my HomeVault:
    ![[Slicemk User Setup|dendron://ReferenceVault/proxy.slicemk-zmk-config-setup]]
    ![[proxy.slicemk-zmk-config-setup]]
Is there an advantage to one or the other format? Why does move selection to default to the first?

    Is it so correct?

the former has the advantage of being unambiguous if you have the same note name in multiple vaults

    instead of choices, you'll want
    visibility: private

I found a reason to use Go to note instead of Go to... the former will create a note that doesn't exist, but the latter won't.

Is there a way to auto generate aliasing from intellisense autocompletion? I am looking for the alias to auto generate like when you copy not link to clipboard and paste and it aliases to last portion of the hierarchy. Thanks!

Is there an automatic way of applying a template to a journal note? So if I start creating journal notes that are reading.journal or health.journal, it might be useful to be able to apply a template to those different hierarchies.

If you are set on having the root hierarchy be different you won't be able to use a schema, but you could either use the
    Dendron: Apply Template
command (easy, but manual) for those notes, or use notetraits (hard, maybe still have to apply the trait manually anyway, I've never used them so note sure https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/bdZhT3nF8Yz3WDzKp7hqh/#summary)

I'm having an issue where Dendron is "creating" nodes in my tree view that are just the trailing character of its parent node. For example:
    testing
     - g
       - meetings
         - 2022
           - 2
             - August
     - g
It's definitely not consistent and I can't figure out a way to resolve it. Sometimes it's duplicated (note the two
    - g
above) Any ideas? I tried searching in the issue tracker but came up with nothing.

Has anyone had much luck with nested lists akin to Logseq/Dynalist/Workflowy? It's not a major use-case of mine, but habitual for things like lists of people and information about them. (I'm awful with names so a list is vital!)

what i generally do is start off with a bulleted list and then turn top level bullets into notes if they start exceeding a certain length - initial
    Copy code
    - george foo
      - used to be google vp
      - from seattle
      - likes to run
    - emily harrison
      - ...
    - later
    Copy code
    - [[user.george-foo]]
    - emily harrison
      - ...

Dendron preview is showing me broken link icons instead of the images I just pasted (using Dendron paste image). Markdown preview renders the images correctly. Is there some configuration thing I need to do?

    Also, the animated GIF here:

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mdickin/vscode-markdown-shortcuts/master/media/demo/table_with_header.gif▾

Shows tables nicely formatted with lines and bold header. I see that with the markdown preview but not with the dendron preview. Is that something I can enable in Dendron preview or is that showing markdown preview?

Third question - Is there a correct way to move assets? I moved a note which had images pasted into it to another vault. The images didn't move and the links are not borked in the new location, of course. Is there anything other than moving them in the filesystem that I need to do?

These issues will be of interest: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/525 https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron-paste-image/issues/6 If you paste images , it doesn't paste in image references in cross vault backlink format (xvault links). This means that, when you move them to another vault, those links don't update and end up expecting the assets to exist in the new vault location. You either have to turn them into xvault links if you want assets to stay in the original vault, or you need to move the assets into the current vault. Other issue is about how assets may be getting pasted into the wrong subdir of your vaults, which I have run into, when usually images are expected to be in
    notes/assets/*

Hello, is there any way / any query in order to show only open tasks notices on i.e. single page / cumulative list?

I think figuring out TODO Tree integration will be key for me. If anyone has good resources for where I should start, I'd love to hear about them.

does dendron have echo = false for code blocks? (instead of showing the code, it shows the results instead)

I think you could embed an iframe in a service that offers that like codesandbox or codepen , but dendron doesn’t support executable code blocks on their own

@kevins8 I watched the youtube on zettelkasten. Towards the end(

    https://youtu.be/9fP4zFQMXSw?t=3805▾

), it sounded almost like you were saying that Dendron philosophically rejects the idea of "candidate links". Is that a correct interpretation? I really like candidate links and hope they become a full fledged feature... but that statement makes me worried about the feature just never happening

@jeep the integration is fairly simple. In main schema file change todoIntegration to true, and a TODO: entry eill be added to the frontmatter of each tasks note.

I personally have that switched off ( false ), and use the - [ ] system, as it shows correctly in todo tree ( checked / unchecked ). Regretably, the [ ] from tasks note ( if you reference to them on another place ), is not detected.

Is there a refactoring command that creates a new note from header, and also updates all references to this header to the new note? I normally use the Amoeba Pattern (https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/e780000d-c784-4945-8e42-35218a3ecf10/) and once I see the note is getting too big, then I start to move some header into a separate note.

    There's a
    Move Header
command that works in a similar manner : https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/hdnewljy94gvsnlwwwft6zq

Move Header command will create a new note and move the header into the new note. Would be nice to have a command that converts a header to a new note and updates all references to the header to the new note
