I get quite a lot of messages during the week so it might take me a day until I can respond. about thortspace - its definitely interesting but I don't see it aligning with our roadmap any time soon. we are an open source project so if you're interested in implementing it, I'm happy to give you pointers on where to get started

I didn’t mean the graphical representation of it, just the hierarchy between nodes in 3D space. The nodes in dendoron are already spatially organized but they’re not categorized, would if be possible to implement categorization on top? all good. categorization is interesting - we have some ad-hoc support for it today depending on what your looking for. 1. the hierarchy is a form of categorization. you can further define how each hierarchy is structured using schemas 2. dendron supports tags so thats another way of categorizing nodes 3. to explicitly take a part of a hierarchy and mark that as part of a hiearchy, the most likey way we would implement that is with schemas and letting you designate categories there: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/c5e5adde-5459-409b-b34d-a0d75cbb1052.html

Is it possible to autocomplete (by hitting Tab, for example) the child, grandchild, in the Lookup? My use case is when creating a new file under a hierarchy, I'd like to to type first 2 or 3 letters of each child, etc, and hit Tab and it autocompletes with the first result in the lookup till you get to the point where you type the new name at the end of hierarchy to create a new file.

i think that @User means that (is it possible to) create a template so that the template creates a new file (note) to a diff. dir with the template itself applied on it

hmm, that's intriguing. we don't support autocomplete by tab completion because of a limitation of the vscode widget.

if i'm following, something like the following? - Apply Template: template.foo - Choose a note: some.note - Create a note with template applied

yeah sth like that, except you can choose a

some.note

from a different directory, according to his question (or more precisely without the choosing process (because he didn't mention any), simply apply a template to the decided (by configurations) file in another directory)

but I think it's more appropriate to let him elaborate himself 🤷

I want to apply Dendron's templates to markdown files inside my personal websites public directory to use with 11ty's templating. I include my projects folder inside my dendron workspace already, so my websites directory is accessible. It would definitely increase my producitivty to be able to apply templates I had built in dendron to notes I use in my website since I'm currently just copying and pasting everything already.

I would just IDK include Dendron in my website all together but I use it for literally everything right now, just a ton of stuff I wouldn't want being public.

If that's feature request worthy I'll definitely write it up
