hmm... it's not super clear but its suspicious that you're on the 0.43 alpha branch. Did you install this directly from vsix? Are you on released Dendron/released vscode?

I resonate with you. Fortunately, these markdown editors have outline panes, and the headings themselves of foldable. I agree with Kevin that Typora would facilitate longer-form writing while still offering a focused, minimal aesthetic. You’re best, I say, sticking to a Markdown editor like Obsidian or Dendron, until an app which meets all of your needs arrives (which I hope for your sake is soon!) or you gel sufficiently well with a combination operating on the same set of notes. You’ll have to check, but if Typora allows you to view your non-markdown files within the file tree, and perhaps copy their relative file path, you’d also have references on hand. I suspect a background in design means you’ll have many non-markdown files you’ll want to recognise in your notes or within the same “writing mindspace”. Given Typora can render images in-line, there will be visual appeal in your notes. I’ve seen some embed a mindmap PNG at the top of a blog draft (like Oshyan from Productivitists) to help keep focused on weaving the narrative.

So when creating wiki links using [[]], Dendron is creating separate files that only include a markdown header 1, it's cluttering my vault, is it possible to configure these so that they are sent to separate directory when created?

I thought maybe I was hitting enter too early and creating them by accident

So I tested it on a few things

So first I did one that was just [[lang.c.debug#valgrind]] which worked fine, then I tried it on [[lang.c.general#Sizeof-operator]] which did not work and created the file, reason being in that case is the header is all lowercase. SO I deleted it and rewrote it as [[lang.c.general#sizeof-operator]] and the error persists

I think it might have something to do with the dash

Almost everything in my dictionary file has dashes in them

Or it could be perhaps I should let the wiki just make the initial link to the file

Dashes shouldn't be a problem, it looks like it's having trouble with the header for some reason. Let me try to reproduce the issue

Looking at the video, it looks like the file gets generated when you mouse over the link. I can't reproduce the issue though. Would you mind sending me your Dendron log? You should be able to run the command "Dendron:Dev: Diagnostics Report" and paste the output in a direct message.
