Why does Dendron add a newly created vault to .gitignore automatically when you use the vault add command? This is something to watch out for if you want to put things in a git repository and have it pushed to the remote

I believe that should only happen for remote vaults. Remote vaults are git repositories on their own, so the

Dendron: Workspace: Sync

command or the

dendron workspace sync

command line interface will synchronize them automatically.

How do you get links to show the title of the note instead of the original link path?

I know you can use

[[some custom title|link-to-file]]

to override the title, but I was hoping that it would be able to use the title of the destination note as the link name instead of something like

If I have an image in an ${vault}/assets/images folder in my vault, what could be the cause of an image link that has

assets/images/<image>

as its target to not render in the output? Is my assets folder in the wrong place?

hmm.. did you use the "Paste Image" command?

another thing to check is if a regular link works (just remove the exclamation from the embed code) and you can click on the link in markdown to take you to the image.

I didn't use paste image, I imported it via a folder of markdown notes

Yup a regular link works

A regular link in Vs Code allows me to click to go to the image. If I publish the site and look at the html when the image is a link, it tries to link to an invalid path. Cannot GET /notes/assets/images/imagename-9f655f1f-3b85-4866-ac2c-5e7ae024e519.jpg`

Oh is there a challenge to copying the image again (so it's in your clipboard) and then using ctrl+shift+p and then type "paste image"?

Not sure if vscode under wsl2 affects access to the clipboard ...

It said xclip is not installed but I don't think it'd work because its on the windows clipboard, not on the linux one. I found the right link, its supposed to be localhost:8080/assets instead of under /notes/assets

So now I just need to figure out how to make it not include /notes on links to images
