what you want to do is open the settings

cmd+shift+p

on mac or

ctrl+shift+p

this opens the Command pallet their you can search for

>Preferences: Open Settings (UI)

and in the view that opens you can search for

dendron.

and you will find every setting that is listed under the [vscode config headding]( https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/eea2b078-1acc-4071-a14e-18299fc28f48.html#vscode-config) and their you can adjust the default Journal Name

I wonder if anyone else would find this to be useful. If you have usePrettyRefs set to true, then you see a header "From ...{note}" and a "Go to text ->" link below it. If we could customize that to show it in just one line or better yet just have a link arrow or shorter text, it would make it more streamlined without compromising the functionality. For, e.g. the screenshot below shows a reference to a note with usePrettyRefs set to true. Seems like it would be a waste of space and wordy to me if you have many such references from different notes on that same page.

I actually use the standard one, I did have to add another extension to get the wikilinks to work there... but for me that was the compromise over some of the issues with the Dendron-specific version (e.g. in the Dendron one, & ends a URL, so if you have a link with a query string http://site.com/page.htm?a=1&b=2&c=3, Dendron preview will change the link to http://site.com/page.htm?a=1, which is often a broken link (in the case of BibleGateway.com, which my notes link to heavily, I get the correct verse, but in their default translation instead of the translations I prefer to study, because it's

?search=___&version=___

and Dendron chops off the version param)

I'm unable to run 'Site Preview' successfully. I have been successful in the past, but this time it keeps saying 'Extension host terminated unexpectedly - Restart Extension Host'. I have no idea how to go about resolving this issue. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have this error as well but not becouse of dendron. Int could be interesting what your logs say.

I uninstalled VSCode, deleted all extensions, preferences, everything related to VSCode, and reinstalled it and now it works great! It's very fast too. So weird!

I have a question that I think the answer is "no" but want to double check I'm not missing something. I set up my project templates for work as pro.[projectname], but have two distinct types of projects that would be under this. Some [projectname]'s need one set of children via a schema, while the others need a different set of schema children. Is there a way to define which of two schema I want to reference for the same path-type? or is my best bet to define one schema that encompasses the children of both and just actually create those children which are appropriate for the project type?

your best bet would probably be creating two schemas and have something like

pro.[projectType].[projectName]

and then habe the ProjectTypes have the children you need.

Hi folks, I have been keeping my notes in a dendron vault and enjoying things. The thing that is keeping me from going "all-in" with dendron is that I tend to do quite a bit of "by-hand" calculations, so I would like a compatible ipad workflow that would allow me to do free-form handwritten calculations and have the calculations inserted as an image into my markdown files/dendron. Ideally these would be editable if I was on the ipad and at least viewable when I was on the mac. Suggestions?

currently, you can do free form drawings in apple notes which I believe can be exported as images. you could then use the images in dendron. in the future, we're aiming to support something like excalidraw inside dendron itself so you can do this natively https://github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw i know this is something that @User looked into once upon a time
