@tfer For making text notes from the video's audio, you also might be to use the built-in transcription feature in Word or Google Docs. I have to make captions for all the instruction videos I make at work (when we're using a platform that doesn't have automatic transcription). It's quickest to make a first draft of the captions text file by passing the audio from one device (i.e. playing the video on my smart phone) into another (my laptop). If you want to use Google Docs, I believe audio transcription only can happen if you use Chrome, but I was able to do it in Word without any problem and without installing Chrome on my computer.

Has anyone looked into how to connect in-browser annotation with Dendron?

A non-Dendron related question - I had hoped VSCODE Workspaces would preserve which extensions are active and inactive. I had thought that in my Dendron workspace I could disable all of my Python extensions while doing the opposite for my Python project workspace. Seems like this doesn't work. Has anyone else accomplished this? Is it really not a big deal? The reason I started investigating this is due to Dendron taking quite a bit of time to load - I thought perhaps that disabling other extensions might speed things up.

@User AH! OK - when I first ran the command I saw this popup and kinda ignored it. I didn't edit the file. Where is the file located now so I can go edit it - the command doesn't bring up that file any longer. Nevermind - I found it in the PODS directory.

@User I see it only imports the files in the root directory you define - not sub-directories - correct?

@User Thanks for the help - I am now all set. As a side note - I use an explorer replacement called Directory Opus. It has a REALLY GREAT rename function that I have never used (I have had this tool since it was in BETA) - very simple to do pattern renames on large numbers of files - so notes that look like 2020-11-20.md become daily.journal.2020.11.20.md with one click.

command should support everything that opus does but with dendron's file based hierarchies. we're still a couple of features short of that 😅

I will take a look at that - I remember browsing it. I have a bunch of files - say 50 - that have no links to anything - I will brute force it for now. As for the import - it didn't bring in the sub directories, for me. My structure was:

- My Notes
|
--010 Work
|   |
|   - .md files
- 020 Personal
|  |
|  - .md files
and so on.

It only brought in the files directly under My Notes for me. I had to edit the .yml file multiple times to specifically point to each sub folder. Now - I know - I may have done something wrong - and I am banking that I did - but for now, my Obsidian notes have been moved and I am in the process of refactoring them 🙂 Thank you for your continued support.

to import everything, you need to import the patent of “my notes”. import pod gets everything underneath the path you specify

@kevins8 I refactored a note and now when I try to restart Dendron or Rebuild the Index I am getting an error. The Tree View is now empty: {"err":{"msg":"no childNote found: 39da727f-6a3c-4a3e-b3ed-1dd85c02711b"}}

It was actually that orphaned note you see there - your-role—-value-add.md. I refactored it to match one of my schemas adding work.mgmt. to the front of the note. Seems to have worked but now my Dendron Tree is gone and I get that error what I start the extension or rebuild the jndex. I’m hoping I don’t need to start over.
