there are a bunch of sensitive names (people names, company names, etc.)

got it. then no worries. in the past, import pod has had issues with special characters in the file names. we fixed some of that but i think there's stuff we've missed. this week i'm focused on squashing bugs so will take this as an action item as well as emit logs of exactly when import pod chokes

I didn't think you'd pull me away from Obsidian, but you definitely have.

I definitely have some filenames and folders with weird chars. Some started life in Remnote, then moved to Roam, then to Obsidian.

Another question: Copying and pasting an image into a markdown file doesn't appear to be working for me. Nothing happens.

It should not, how are you attempting to paste? Also can you verify (say with paint or any other image editor or even a word processor) that the image is in the clipboard

I opened browser, found image, right clicked and selected Copy, then ctrl-v into markdown

Windows keyboard shortcut should be ctrl alt v for paste image by default

See if that works

Hmm try ctrl-shift-p for the command palette and type
