@hikchoi I watched your hackathon video about pushing small updates to a dedicated inbox and just wanted to share that I've made a similar setup for myself with Todoist and Make.com automation service. I use Todoist for entry since you can do it really fast using their widget or the status bar tile; I also use labels to specify where these notes should go (daily log, daily tasks, monthly tasks, just random thoughts to think about later). Make listens to Todoists tasks and writes them in appropriate places (I use a free tier, so there is a limit on how many notes you can do in a month, but I haven't hit it yet).

came here to report this as well. toggle preview is unbound for me in general. also, when i saw the description i was hoping that it was a new feature that toggles preview/edit mode like obsidian rather than open to the side. is there any way to get that behavior?

i'm stoked on the new chronological sibling feature, this has been on my wishlist since i started using dendron.

First time hearing about make.com. Also didn't know Todoist had a REST API! I'll take a look at these moving forward. Ultimately where we push from shouldn't matter at the end; Dendron should have a common language for ingesting the pushed item once the user decides to do so.

It says the rename note function is depreciated, but I don't see a replacement function in the command pallet.

and when i do rename a note tab completion seems broken.

markdown links is no longer supported (since the functionality is now inside of dendron). you can make this dissapear by removing markdown-links

Yes, I think overriding the default keybinding when dendron is active is a good choice.

It was used to be called "Integromat" which I think is much better name than "Make". It has the most liberal free tier among all the automation tools (I find) and I use it to push Instapaper highlights and Evernote clippings into my inbox vault.

Is there a roadmap for where you see it going? And how much interest in improving it are you seeing from the public?

I'm considering contributing on that front.

It is a bit more code, but if you find the need more personal automation credits, I also use pipedream, and lets you write a bit of JS if you want to customize your request or response payloads a bit more . I didn’t realize integromat had renamed, thanks for the tip https://pipedream.com/pricing

That's a very cool service, thanks! But you are right--a bit more coding would be needed than with Make/Integromat and its ilk. I do like that they don't limit your workflows on the free tier; that's very nice of them.

In the dendron.code-workspace file, you can safely remove

dendron.dendron-markdown-links

from the recommended extensions.

Generally I feel like dendron is active and possibly a few of the “info level” logs that pop up are an abstraction leak to the user
