If I copy a JPG image from the web, it is OK to rename it on Ctrl+Alt+V but Dendron really should not be saving it as a PNG. This is a less efficient storage format for many images and there seem to be no good reason to do extra processing. Or am I missing something?

Thank you for the input. I like your suggestions and the "Spinning Triangles" option seems to be interesting. Does the word "spinning" for you imply a kind of animation? You can have a look at a picture of the current working version here https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/pull/1263 which for now won't include keyboard navigation but has enhancements to your other suggestions. Since the referenced document does not really show a big difference in carets or triangle we could for sure change that if the dendron community feels rather drawn to that. Note: a keyboard navigation should definitly IMHO also be part of the menu 🙂

I looked at the doc, it's on the right track. You're using color to emphasis "subtopics are shown", i.e. the caret is in the upside-down orientation, (visual-metaphor: subtropics-have-been-dumped-out) and the color of the heading's text is changed to a pastel green. The currently open note's text is left black but given a green bkg hilite plus a green pipe character. Only going by the picture so can't check the behavior completely. Given color blindness considerations, I'd suggest sticking with bkg highlighting schemes. I'm still liking what they are doing on the TS Primer site recommended in "First Time Developer", many subtle UI decisions there: * when you are viewing a note, all of the visible hierarchy is given a gray bkg, note: that may be only the note's toplevel header if 'collapsed' * all of the current note's 'ancestor' topics have their 'carets' shifted to blue * ... yeah, you're right. @User the reason you're seeing this is because our cli tries to clone using the

git

protocol which requires that you have

ssh keys

setup for github. you can run the following instead

git clone https://github.com/dendronhq/nextjs-template.git .next
