I’m curious as well - the coddx for ToDo.Md isn’t updated and is ugly on Windows. I’m wondering how hard it’d be to implement it

I use exactly this one and can't complain since it does what it is supposed to do as far as I'm concerned. The aesthetic didn't bother me yet 😎

naive question: I've installed CodDX VS Code ext now * can I use it within Dendron? * bit confused (and not read through docs of course)

    TODO.md
in my vault πŸ™‚ Now I'm searching for the Dendron shortcut to add the front-matter block on top

just to make sure we're on the same page - opt out by default means we collect telemetry unless you opt out. this because we want to get a representative sample about usage. more details about telemetry and how to opt out here: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/84df871b-9442-42fd-b4c3-0024e35b5f3c.html

I love how there's 0 documentation on how to actually use it.

a bit of feedback on that. opt-out by default .... led me to believe i was opt'd out by default

got it, that wasn't meant to be non-obvious. i will update the docs to say that "telemetry is enabled by default unless you opt out"

do you have an idea of level of effort for #210 ?
  • k

    kevins8

    04/27/2021, 2:13 AM
210 is technically possible but the most realistic implementation is probably going to be as a synced mirror using the markdown pod: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/ccab31c4-e9ca-4ee8-b754-f786a3f3be6e.html

currently, pods provide one time import/export functionality but later this year, we'll introduce synced pods that can mirror changes in near real time

hmm I don't think that'll fix my core issue

    what is your core issue?
  • c

too many files in the directory

maybe automatically sort files into folders according to where users place
    .
between the file names? don't think it's possible though
  • c

    04/27/2021, 2:17 AM
that's basically the idea behind #210, i think
  • k

    04/27/2021, 2:21 AM
for the too many files issue, do you find that its a usability issue or a ux issue? i know some folks wanted folders to better interact with other tools (eg. git)
  • c

    codefriar

    04/27/2021, 2:27 AM
it's definitely a usability issue. While I have a specific issue / use case here, the problem is not mine alone.

I use dendron in a vscode-server environment, self hosted.

so there's a finite limit to the usability of vscode-server (github spaces) environment with a ton of files in the side bar there

I did a bit of projecting to see what I was capable of handling before I got to frustrated to use it. it's about 3 months of daily notes, and no additional notes. ie: roughly 90 notes
