Thanks for the feedback. The default code block rendering is not my favorite either - we use the rehype-prism plugin to achieve it: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/blob/dev-kevin/packages/engine-server/src/markdown/utils.ts#L392:L392 I just haven't had time to look into overridding the default but feel to submit a feature request or enlighten me on workarounds if you know of any 😅

Personally I don't like VSCode and Microsoft's fake open source. I take all my notes either on paper, or through my blog system (https://github.com/nobodywasishere/blog + micro + jekyll)

Yeah, note-taking is so personal - once you find something that works for you it's good to keep going. I've switched back and forth between pen/paper and digital notes a couple times before.

well, in case it helps, most of our users are on vscodium, the "open open" version of vscode with microsoft stuff stripped out. there's also editors like theia that support running vscode extensions

Well that's good at least. I know their stuff like liveshare isn't open source (even tho people think it is). I've stuck with Atom and micro (for command line) mostly

@User AND all contributors, thank you for your time and effort for this noteworthy 🤓 cause!! I can't believe we were stuck with MS Word all these decades.

I actually would like to see Dendron as a command line friendly background service. I use VS codium for most of my daily workflow, but occasionally I have to work from a non gooey interface, and it would be nice to have something like Dendron to be able to index my notes without needing to be in X-Org. Bonus if that's already a feature of Dendron that I'm not aware of.

My prior tool of choice was emacs for exactly that reason.

Does this mean dendron will be completely decoupled from vscode?

it means you'll be able to use a subset of the functionality over CLI (eg. create/delete/move). we'll add to this over time

Hey there @here! We'd love to get more feedback from this community on what features to pick up in April. Head on over to the roadmap - (https://github.com/orgs/dendronhq/projects/1#column-13569288) and review the features in the community column (should be highlighted if you follow the link). For features that are impactful to you, please upvote them (👍). We'll tally them up in a few days so we know we're working on what's important to you.

if i've reported a "bug", but it's more of a feature, but it hasn't had any action on the github page and isn't on that list, what should i do? without it solved, dendron is unusable for me right now

What's the issue? Might've missed it while I was combing through our issues list.

Ah, thanks - yeah - this is a more involved feature. It makes sense to do but would be hard for a member of the community to pick up and get done on their own. Most likely @User will need to get involved and get it done separately (we'll pick it up and put it on the roadmap asap - keep an eye out).

great, thanks. it used to work beautifully, so i think it interferes with the pods, which is too bad

@User can you check if the latest option helps your use case? its not a full fix but it disables dendron from initializing remote vaults at startup: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/eea2b078-1acc-4071-a14e-18299fc28f48.html#initializeremotevaults
