I totally didn't get the AWS job

was waaay too anxious, and my last job was really sensitive so it was hard to talk about without going into great detail

so i was tripping over my words like a madman just trying to get across a leadership principle

came off like i probably didn't even study

thanks man, it was a fantastic learning experience though. I'm happy I had the opportunity to make those mistakes and see how I'd handle it. A ton of shit to improve on

I know what its like screwing up in an interview. I do it all the time

interview anxiety is a thing. i've seen really great candidates fail the first part of our loop because of just that. one thing to say about aws at least is that they're always hiring and if its something that you want, i would recommend re-applying after 6months

Will do, helpful to see there are others that deal with that. In the meantime, I'm going to keep pumping out code, get network+ certified, aim for some of those AWS certs too just to improve my chances.

and also on that note I've always seen myself doing network engineering as a career and keeping programming as a hobby since it's the only thing I really enjoy doing and don't want to get burned out on it... and there's not a lot you can do network engineering wise at home so theres always something to learn on that front. Sure you can have a homelab, but it's not the same as working on vast network infrastrucutre
