a wiki link will match all notes in all notes and show you a prompt if the same note exists in multiple vaults. to absolutely specify a link, you can add a xvault link: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/3472226a-ff3c-432d-bf5d-10926f39f6c2.html#cross-vault-links

Just thinking through my use case - lets say I was working on my schedule in the default vault and type : 8:00 [[meet-with-kevin-world-domination]] - I was wonder if there'd be a way to have it prompt for the vault when i click through that to create the file. Still reading the docs though, this is my 3rd go of trying to get this flow working

got it. by default, it will create the note in the same vault that you're currently in . if

lookupConfirmVaultOnCreate

is enabled (https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/f83c1d87-eac0-48f3-a5cf-8a69989d8ec1.html#lookupconfirmvaultoncreate), you will be prompted for a vault when creating using lookup but not when you navigate a link. this probably makes sense for us to extend as an option. if this is important for your workflow, feel free to submit a feature request and we can track it in our roadmap: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&template=feature_request.md&title=

Kafka is a major infrastructure investment for us at work, requiring a number of FTEs in a dedicated dataops team. It definitely makes sense to build on the ecosystem, but given the choice I'd opt for something like MSK

Yeah completely agree you avoid all the operational complexities if you use a fully managed service

i've never used kafka but have used kinesis on multiple occasions. if we've already sold our souls to AWS, any reason to use MSK over Kinesis?

Kinesis is really good actually. The main difference is the parallelism model, and the scalability. Usually it is really common to use them together since there is a kafka connector to integrate both

And kinesis is 100% cloud, so usually companies have some applications connected to it, but want persistence or re-playability so they dump some data from kinesis to kafka

For the graph, its potential is in knowledge discovery and it would be great to support this better. A couple of suggestions/ideas. 1. Might it be possible to show peeked previewed on mouse-over the graph notes? Perhaps as an option to toggle on/off? 2. Might it be possible to show some additional information under the nodes, again optionally. Say a brief description and/or a thumbnail image? These could be the top of the note or some specific parts, indicated by block anchors, for example.
