Nice, yes that was missing. Works now. Is there a list of recommended extensions documented somewhere?

I gotta tell ya. I love the GitHub desktop app in Windows. I really feel like I'm getting into the flow with Git I'm following this tutorial on setting up an eleventy blog https://www.rockyourcode.com/how-to-deploy-eleventy-to-github-pages-with-github-actions/

It’s been a year or so since I’ve used it, but if for some reason GitHub Desktop doesn’t do what you like or you want a different option, I’ve had good experiences with Git Kraken in the past. Doesn’t hurt that I find it beautiful! Definitely interested in that tutorial, thanks for the link!

Since Dendron uses Eleventy I thought I would poke around with it. ... now that I think about it, I wonder if we could use another blogging engine / workflow. I'm not sure why you would want to, but that what I like about open software. @User You are welcome for the link to the tut. It's been a straightforward shot for me... Oh, there was another tutorial posted earlier that got me started.

dendron currently is integrated with eleventy though it could work with anything (previously, w used jekyll). and since we generate static files, you can take those notes and use any platform to host it

Rice U also is behind one of the biggest OER (open educational resource) initiatives: https://openstax.org/about So maybe there is some kind of broader "open" tendency there?
