@User If Ctrl+Shift+R (reference to another note) doesn't work on Ubuntu, do
    Copy code
    sudo apt install xsel

opps, must be how we currently do upgrade settings ๐Ÿ˜ณ we have a list of defaults and if we don't see a value set in the settings, we will update it

not sure if this is dendron related, but suddenly today my vscode dark theme changed to white. At that point dendron was showing "reload required" in extension panel

hmm, I guess this might be due to github theme being added to extension pack

    > hmm, I guess this might be due to github theme being added to extension pack @User did you have a color theme set in your settings? when dendron does a version upgrade, it also tries to upgrade your vscode workspace settings. the way it decides if its okay to upgrade is by checking if you already have a value set anywhere else. if you've never had a
    colorTheme
set (eg. just use the default), then dendron would have changed your workspace settings to use dendron's default color theme (github light). before yesterday's change, this would be a no-op if you didn't have github light installed (but since we bundled it in as an extension pack it would now take place)

Earlier I selected not to install the github theme; I might have used vscode-insiders default theme, cannot remember. Anyway, screen just switched to white theme so it was a bit of a shocker :D

@User @User @User @User @User Welcome to Dendron! You can find a short primer and getting started resources inside the #734970079988416592 channel. We'd love to get to know y'all better on the #734966064957620294 channel. Hey everyone, My name is Kiran and I'm one of the Dendrologists (fancy word for Dendron enthusiast). I've been into Journaling and note taking for a while now but I recently decided to take it up a notch and Dendron has solved a bunch of problems for me (local files, backlinks, structure). I actually went to college with Kevin (the founder of Dendron) and have always been a fan of the stuff he's working on. @User

I've been away from Dendron and the Discord for a couple of weeks and so much has happened! I thanked @User in the Announcements (hope that was ok) and what I want to say here is โ€“ย given the progress with transclusion and exporting and so on, I would just suggest taking a note of the history of work in this area (e.g. SGML, XML, Docbook, Asciidoc). Not to get weighed down by it, but a little look at Asciidoc and modular Docbook might give you a sanity check on what Dendron could and should support, and how it can be represented. Having said that, you're motoring so fast, and doing things so elegantly that maybe there's nothing to learn there.

@User it was both okay and appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚ i'm away of asciidoc and xml, less so with sgml and docbook. will check those out later today. big fan of asciidoc and their modular approach to plugins and templates. there are lots of lessons in existing tools and definitely eager to emulate the good parts and avoiding the best. if you have specific thoughts about functionality from other tools, would love to hear it as well !
