Didn’t that get fixed ages ago?
r
Oh, if it did I don't know. I remember it being an issues a couple years ago. Just not positive on the status of it now.
n
Are you talking about the Sites list delay?
j
@Kasper Johansen ??
n
I found a workaround for that looong ago, but I swear that was fixed later on
j
Yeah that’s the one Ray - I thought that was fixed like nick mentioned - been a while though
k
I am pretty sure that if you use the Edge Cloud site list feature there is no delay
I will have to double check though
n
I'm checking my notes, I know there is a way to get around that nonsense because I had it implemented at my old place.
Found my first note
"Why the fuck are you using IE Mode, get a better developer"
😄 2
Let me check for others...
r
LMAO
I recall you @Nick Panaccio and @Kasper Johansen has a some tricks. I think
I am doing an upgrade design and a client has 4.5 still 😞 .
k
Here is my article on Microsoft Edge Site List: https://virtualwarlock.net/how-to-configure-microsoft-edge-site-lists/
❤️ 1
4.5?? 😮
n
4.5... as in Presentation Server 4.5?
r
Yea man.
‼️ 1
n
confused
😄 2
r
Exactly
Here was my thoughts

This is quick top of my head answer - Delete your webcache during logoff, delete the EMIE XML file in the Edge profile\default folder and edit the preferences file to remove the EMIE contents. That will force an immediate reload of the EMIE site list on launch of the browser as its no longer cached. We have this logic in code somewhere which i can dig out if needed
n
Maybe that's how I did it. Here are my FSL redirections for IE:
<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStore</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\EmieBrowserModeList</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\EmieSiteList</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\EmieUserList</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Recovery</Exclude>
👍 1
Does this environment use FSL or UPM?
r
ahhh good tips guys
n
I have the settings for UPM, too
r
Not 100% yet. But I will take both tips and come up with solution.
n
Let me add to that:
<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\IEDownloadHistory</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCookies</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\PRICache</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\SchCache</Exclude>
	<Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache</Exclude>
p
mine is based on latest MSEdge
it changed around v100 to what i just listed here
and was completely different for Internet Explorer
n
r
Nice man, Thank you very much
n
Now don't forget to tell your client that we're all shaking our heads at them
r
LMAO, They already know, they admitted to me already lol.
@Pete jones Send me the code if you don't mind please.
I am having to relearn all this again. I did it years ago, then have not had to touch it.
p
sitelist.xml is the file you need to delete, dual_engine section in the preferences json is the bit you need to remove. You are asking about Edge IE Mode i presume?
r
Yea that is correct for what I am asking
p
ok, we do this in one of our products so thats the logic we use
its different for IE11 Enterprise mode and MS Edge pre version 100
r
okay, sounds good. I will go and start testing soon.
