I can only assign it to users and groups. but it also says "If assign GPOs to machines".. well, how do you do that?
n
My assumption is that you have to add computers to AD groups?
c
oh. hey, that makes sense. 🙂
trying to get my brain to learn these new fangled ways of managing things instead of GPO. im still on the struggle bus
n
Yeah, I never went the WEM route with GPOs, so that is all new territory for me, too.
c
I dont want to leave GPO-land because it's my safe space. But I'm afraid of being left behind eventually.l

Honestly, you'd have a hard time convincing me to move computer policies to WEM. Those should all process at boot, so I don't care enough about them. User policies are a different story - I'd move every preference to WEM immediately, at the very least.

A group can contain users and machines. Machine-level settings take effect if the related machine belongs to the group.
i guess reading the documentation would have helped also. woot!

I started with GPP moving them into WEM. That's basically where I left off. I'm not moving all the GPO's but thought I'd do a test with FSL.
the thing I dont like about assign to groups is then I have to remember to add new provisioned servers to that group. Versus just assigning to an OU. boo
I guess I could use the FILTERS in assignments

Hi @Chris Schrameyer WEM service will support assign GPO to OU directly on web console, currently this feature is under public tech preview, you can use it on web console now.🙂
