@Andrew Morgan is actually on this Slack instance although I don’t know if he actively monitors this

You mean the "access to this has been restricted by your system admin" or similar when the dialog loads and tries to browse the drives? I remove them completely from the Explorer view and make sure that the user's defined folders are all pointing to accessible places
r
Yeah I guess it's the one. If the user just clicks OK it continues to the users default locations, for example Documents. It's not all programs doing this, it was more of a problem a couple of years ago. Let's see if I can give you an example.
@James Rankin Here we have it. https://andymorgan.wordpress.com/?s=restricted

I believe there's two policies...one to hide the drives and one to restrict access. You just need to enable the hide one.
c
@James Rankin We have restricted user's desktop/documents etc folders. Only their local drive is mapped. We are looking for a way to hide quick access and desktop, documents, pictures, music folders under "This PC" as well. We want to show only their home drive. How did you remove them from save as dialog box?
j
Registry

Can you share the path? I want to give it a try

Just on my way out of the door but I think this code deals with some of them

Thank you.. Is there a way to revert it, in case if we need it in future?
j
just revert them back to what they were previously (i.e. put the items back you are deleting)
