Make sure you aren't looking at single IP mode docs. That used to be required until Azure started letting customers use multiple NICs and multiple IPs
d
ah 🙂
ok that makes alot more sense now. the document is recent tho
c
you'll want to use links in this section depending on whether you're spinning up HA or standalone
d
is there a preferred mode between single and multiple nics? what do you get with multiple NICs?
c
From a performance standpoint it depends on the expected throughput; testing tends to indicate that throughput scales better when split across multiple NICs versus putting everything through a single NIC.
Also depends how your Azure networking setup is designed, if you're already carved up into management/server-side/client-side networks then the three NIC template makes sense. There's nothing to my knowledge that prevents you from customizing the number of NICs though - you aren't locked into choosing either one or three.

this is for lower use environment. not super concerned about performance atm. but good to know for future.
