07/30/2019, 6:45 PMFor what it's worth, the Native Apps don't have issues when using Full User Layers as Profile MGMT using the same Layers besides the new version of the Platform layer that includes FSLogix.

07/30/2019, 7:17 PMBlame it on Microsoft, they started it. I prefer to go by just "Webster". When I registered for my first TechEd conference back in 2004, the reg form asked for your name and your preferred name. I put "Carl Webster" and "Webster". My name badge was for "Webster Webster". Several customer sites I have at long enough to warrant a name badge (like HCA) did the same thing.

07/30/2019, 7:34 PMCouple things, don’t optimize before importing the OS Layer into the ELM. The OS Layer should be OS, hypervisor tools, App Layering machine tools only. Then import to the ELM, create an image template from that minimum OS Layer so you cannot accidentally delete it. Do all your patching from a version of the OS Layer.

07/30/2019, 7:49 PMYep, that all makes sense. I did not remove any native apps when running the Optimizer on the image before import. Works perfect with Full user layers but does not work with FSLogix Profile Container using the same OS layer and same platform layer just a new version of the platform layer with FSLogix installed.

07/30/2019, 8:31 PMI forgot to mention, I create a separate layer where I run the Citrix Optimizer, that way optimizations are not tattooed in your OS Layer. What is best practice today may not be tomorrow.
