My recommendation here is to test it, I k ow some of the other guys in the community have done some testing for this but there's no actual benchmark for this.

Also consider excluding the Rules folder in your AV realtime scanning. Depending on the amount of rules files, it can produce a fair amount of CPU usage

How many rules are you thinking? We have 16 in production right now, with no problems, doing similarly to what you are planning (one master PVS image)
k
I can't remember the exact number, but it's in the hundreds+

Wow. That's a lot of apps in one image! My scenario does not compare 😃
k
Yeah, well I'm guessing it's only relevant in very few scenarios

@Dave Brett has a good size deployment

Yes we were only looking at 10-20 depending how far we go, so i guess that should be ok by the sounds of it! Good shout on AV exclusions too - thanks.
r
we have 20 rules no problems

I’m curious to see if anyone had ever pulled off 100+ rules. I recall a company with a 500 GB master image and tried to stick everything in it and use Ivanti Application Control to lock it down. It worked in testing but I’m not sure if they ever went to prod with it. App Masking would be the better approach granted FSLogix can handle it.

I had an image with 50+ rules with no problem, and personally haven't heard of an actual limit... Certainly didn't hit it with my single image deployment šŸ™‚
