Are you trying to move both the OST and Outlook info to the ODFC container? If so, I imagine that you'll have to test both the Sync OST to VHD GPO setting to copy the OST file to the ODFC FSL container and the Include Outlook data in the container GPO setting. I've never tried, personally.
r
daft? That's my goto. and no, it will not move those files if they aren't in the default location, i've already tested this.
i was dissapointed

Once you’ve redirected the OST to a Network location that will tattoo the path on the users outlook profile in the registry, you’ll need to script at logon to change that path back to default. It would be great if it was a REG_SZ value but alas it’s BINARY value. You could used @Aaron Parker script to change it https://github.com/aaronparker/FSLogix/blob/master/Ost/Set-OutlookProfileOstPath.ps1. I had seen another script on the old FSLogix forum site but can’t find it now

Thanks, I will give Aaron's script a go and see what happens... 🙂
r
let me know, i have this same issue
s
Will do @Ryan Gallier
r
How would this move the actual OST back though? i'm a little confused at this process
n
It doesn’t move the existing OST back, but it will at least force the OST back into a location whereby FSLogix will redirect it into the container. When the users launch Outlook next it will cache the emails again. Now having said that you could easily adapt the script to copy it first (might take a while), then change the registry. I’m trying to find another script I’ve seen that does the move too...
I’ve found the script, doesn’t do move either, but at worst, Outlook with just have to cache the emails again into the new OST in the default location
At least this way you don’t need to delete the MAPI profile and lose all the settings associated I.e. Shared Mailboxes etc etc

good point

There’s another script on the same location that will do the move for you. It creates or opens an Office Container and copies the OST into the ODFC folder.

😀
@Aaron Parker lines 5 ($path) & 65 ($TargetPath) they should be the same variable (parameter) name should they not? Looking at it on my phone so could be wrong 😕
a
@Nathan Sperry which script?
Nevermind, fixed and pushed
s
@Aaron Parker script worked like a charm! I was able to change the Outlook profile to revert back to the default OST location so that fslogix would then manage it. I did not want to move the existing OST as it was bloated, actually wanted the user to build a new cache... Thanks @Aaron Parker!!!
