In what respect Cory? There's quite a few combinations of settings.
c
Like whale default setting should you start with out of the box. I want to test fslogix more, the last time I deployed it I was having freezing sessions.
n
Plan ahead is about the best practice I can think of. I've made a number of changes after our initial go-live that I'd rather have done beforehand. For instance, if you don't want to include Outlook personalization in your ODFC container, you need to actually disable that setting in the GPO, as it defaults to enabled.
l
Cory, was your storage okay?
c
Yes migrated to upm and no issues. Same server. I think it was my search index. Gonna try everything default first. I am using UPM and fslogix now for hopefully a seamless migration in q1. Anyone willing to share there settings they know work on prod?
n
Here are my Prod settings.

finally, someone other than me who shares their gpo's to help others!
Back to FSL, My rec'd is to start really simply and then build on from there. Get used to the product. It's not as simple as others make it out to be, well maybe if you're starting from 0. I spent about 3-4 weeks troubleshooting a printer issue that ended up being a gpo setting that worked just fine with upm. I have a long post about it on the M$ FSL Forumns
I still haven't rolled it out to full prod yet b/c they're still finding bugs with it, I would have thought MS would have tons of money at it considering it's the go to solution for wvd on azure.
n
I'm one version behind due to all of the issues reported both here and on the FSL forum.
n
Every time I think i'm ready to give it another go I wake up to see more bugs. I wonder if the version is Azure is the same one we're getting. I can't imagine Azure is putting up with this.

Good point @Nick Casagrande . The current build is scrap. I cannot believe that it’s being used in Azure WVD productive environments. I have found many bugs in the current release and went back to the previous build. One thing I have learned is, don’t include OneNote, Teams and other data in the Office container. Let it in the profile container, otherwise you cannot exclude cache data from the profile via redirection.xml and the Office container explodes. Use the Office container ONLY for Outlook.
e
What about including OneDrive data in the Office container?
c
Trying to test more. Office runs better when you use cache made and keep the files. Thanks for the help! Will let y’all know how it goes.
@Nick Panaccio how many users and version are you on with this Config?
r
Nick Casagrande is correct, its not a simple as they make it out to be. Alot of blogs, will tell you what to set and where to start. But There is more settings than that. Remember this. Profile Mode = Mode 3 (RW first, Then RO will happen next) and O365 Mode use unique sessions, if used together with Profile containers.(Or you will get long logins and app time outs). Re-direct the RO to another place other than its default C:\windows\Temp. Redirect logs, and Dont jump to the latest. Hopefully MS will work this out. Keep a eye on Windows Search Service as well.
Overall fslogix is good. Upm had it's issues as well. No product is going to be perfect. I love how upm gives u alot of options in it profile. I love how fslogix solves the office 365 issues. I will say fslogix seemed a bit faster for me. But that's my environment. It was hard for me with upm and certain software that put the data in appdata\local. But that's not anybody's fault but mine. Both are great products.
c
Yes I like fslogix, but with the random freezing it was killing me. Will try the new version with the recommendations here. Might keep rdsh with upm

@Cory Zaner: We're on v2.9.7117.27413, and have just over 900 unique XenDesktop users currently... and growing daily. Edit: My FSLogix report ran this morning, and we apparently now have 1029 unique users.
